About Gateways Vocational Training

As the centralized Jewish agency for special needs in the Twin Cities, Sha’arim + Gateways is at the forefront of innovation and expansion when it comes to meeting the needs community members with disabilities. Committed to supporting our participants throughout the lifecycle and providing them same, inclusive experiences afforded to their peers, we have continued to diversify our programs by launching the Gateways Vocational Training Program. Gateways Vocational Training offers adult trainees vocational and life skills training and the opportunity to engage in a meaningful and appropriately supported vocational environment.

We believe the best way to learn is on the job! Gateways offers opportunities to train skills in real world environments to maximize the transfer of skills. Trainees learn and practice job and life skills out in the community at our partner training sites.

Through our vocational training track, trainees will learn important life and job skills and explore their personal interests and talents. Once they have completed training, graduates have the option to apply for a position at their training site, or take their certificate out into the community!
