Peer Support Training

A crucial aspect of our Gateways Vocational Training curriculum is training our Peer Support so they can better support Trainees. In our first Peer Support training we began with an organizational overview of Sha’arim, the Vocational Training Program, and expectations for Peer Support. Additionally, they received guidance on how to have professional development conversations with Trainees about GROWTH goals they have been creating in their own trainings. We also discussed how to utilize time in-between tasks and time during non-demanding tasks as opportunities to strategize goals and build skills. Establishing a strong foundation by training Peer Supports on program expectations and Trainee support helps everyone in the program thrive and succeed!
