Welcome back to the 22-23 school year!
We are so excited to see everyone on opening day!
This year we are partnering with 6 schools in the Twin Cities. We value our partnership with Bet Shalom, Chabad Hebrew School, Lubavitch Cheder, Minneapolis Talmud Torah, Temple Israel and Torah Academy.
Over the past month, we have been busy meeting with families and setting a plan for the success of each student with an identified disability or challenge in our partner schools. Whether it is 1:1 support in a specific subject area, movement or sensory breaks outside of the classroom, small group instruction, in class behavioral support, or modification of curriculum, Sha’arim instructors are always available to find the best way to service students and help make their Jewish learning experience one that is meaningful and appropriate.
Jewish education is a key factor in fostering pride in Jewish identity. Jewish education done right, helps our students create a long term relationship with their Jewish community. It creates a sense of belonging. Over the past few weeks we have had the opportunity to provide teacher trainings at most of our partner schools to help teachers think about and strategize ways in which they can make their classrooms more inclusive of varying learning styles and needs. Sha’arim is committed to accommodating students with disabilities and modifying their Jewish learning experience so it remains meaningful and long lasting. Our partner schools, through these training sessions, are making that commitment along with us.
We are always ready to help educate the next generation of our Jewish community where EVERYONE is recognized, valued, and included. It takes a Village – A Jewish Village to help make this happen. We are here for everyone and we look forward to a great year!
Shana Tova – Happy Healthy New Year.
