New Program Alert: Preschool Consulting is Here!

Until this summer Sha’arim service offerings have spanned ages 5 and up, creating lasting change and fostering an environment where every individual feels valued and included. But, over the past year and a half, multiple preschools have approached us for assistance in addressing the needs of their youngest learners with disabilities. This growing demand highlights a significant issue in early intervention services within our community. So we went to work creating a set of consultative services specifically geared towards the needs of our Jewish community preschools.

We are so excited to announce that we are extending our services to early childhood and preschool-aged children, recognizing the overwhelming need for direct intervention and support for educators in this critical developmental stage. One of our core missions is to ensure that Jewish students with disabilities can remain within the Jewish education system. Inclusive early childhood education is essential for maintaining these connections from the very beginning.

Our Preschool Consulting services will include:

  1. Expand Direct Intervention Services: Provide tailored interventions for young children with disabilities, ensuring they receive the support necessary for healthy development.
  2. Support Teachers and Educators: Offer training and resources to preschool teachers and educators, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to effectively include and support children with disabilities in their classrooms.
  3. Collaborate with Preschools: Work closely with the preschools that have approached us, as well as other early childhood education centers, to create inclusive environments that cater to the needs of all children.

Welcome on board to our new preschool partners: Beth El – Aleph Preschool and Torah Academy – Torah Tots! We are so excited to be on this journey with you!

Thank you to the members of the J1 granting committee for helping us secure the initial funding for this pilot.
